Aizawl, Mar 23 : Bullet-ridden bodies of two Mizos and a non-tribal have been recovered from Panikheti area in Assam, Mizoram Home Minister R Lalzirliana said today.
Making an official statement in the state assembly, Lalzirliana said Assam police recovered the three bodies yesterday and presumed that they were killed at around 3 am.
Used pistol cartridges have also been found beside the bodies and Mizoram police officers have been sent to Guwahati to help in the investigation.
The two bodies have been identified as Saidingliana Sailo and H Lalhmingmawia and after autopsy in Gauhati Medical College Hospital, they were being brought to their respective villages.
"They went out on Sunday night to purchase a vehicle and never returned," he said.
The Guwahati Mizo Welfare Association leaders suspected that the two Mizos and the non-tribal were killed in a fight between two gangs of car lifters.
